Five Makeup Tricks You Should know

Good  Evening Beauties...Got this from my Beauty Instructor Mrs Lola Valentine Shanu and i totally agree with all this...Thought i should share this with my ladies..

1. The Matte Factor: You can turn any lipstick matte by adding a small amount of powder blush on top. Apply lipstick, blot with a tissue, and pat blush on top with your finger until it’s fully matte. This is a perfect way to test matte texture to see if you like it while utilizing products you already have.

2. Ms. Mix-A-Lot: You can easily make an at home tinted moisturizer by mixing your foundation with your daily moisturizing cream. This will thin out the texture of your makeup when you want sheer coverage, and hydrate your skin at the same time.

3. Double Duty Eyes: Did you know mascara can double as an eyeliner? Smudge some mascara from your wand on your hand, and apply as a liner with a brush to the lash line. Finish with 3 coats of the same mascara on the lashes. This is a great tip for traveling.

4. Instant Brow Lift: Highlight brows with concealer and blend with a foundation brush. By placing concealer around the brows and blending, you add shape and lift, without an eye-raising bill from the plastic surgeon.

5. Cheeky Fix: Lipstick can double as a cream blush when you’re in a bind. I was on set one time and left my blushes in a different makeup bag that wasn’t with me. I used a soft peach lipstick blended on the cheek instead, instant cream blush!

SKIN TYPES

There are different skin types..Every being has  a skin type or combination of two skin types...

OILY SKIN
Oily skin is shiny skin, especially in the T-zone (from the forehead, down the nose to the chin). You may have enlarged pores, and you may be prone to blackheads and breakouts due to the overproduction of the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands. The good thing about oily skin is it ages better than dry skin because the oils keep the skin plump allowing fewer wrinkles to form. Many young women have oily skin but as they age, they may find their skin becomes more dry, especially after age 35.
To take care of your skin, wash with a cleanser formulated for oily skin before you go to bed. Exfoliate twice weekly with a gentle scrub and use oil-free moisturizers. If you suffer from breakouts, an astringent may help..When it comes to blush and bronzers, powdered blends work better than liquid ones and look for oil-free options for tinted moisturizers or foundations.
CHARACTERISTICS OF OILY SKIN
If you have oily skin, you likely know it. Your skin becomes shiny within the hour after cleansing. You'll notice your T-zone (the entire forehead, down your nose to the chin) is most oily. You have a tendency to get acne if a teenager or young adult and you're prone to enlarged pores, blackheads..

COMBINATION/NORMAL SKIN
Most women (some experts say up to 70 percent, although how anyone arrived at that number is beyond me), have combination, or "normal" skin. Combination skin means you may have a slightly oily T-zone and drier cheeks with dry patchy spots here and there. You may also have larger pores on your cheeks and possibly your forehead.
This skin type has medium pores, a smooth and even texture, good circulation and a healthy color. To take care of your skin, you may need to treat the T-zone differently from your drier spots. If your T-zone tends to be oily, try an astringent on those areas only after you've washed your face.Make sure you exfoliate twice weekly to remove any dead skin cells and use a heavier facial moisturizer on your dry spots as need be.
CHARACTERISTICS OF COMBINATION/NORMAL SKIN
If you find your t-zone (the forehead, down the nose to the chin) is oily, prone to blackheads and breakouts while your cheeks may remain dry and flaky, you have combination skin. Most people's skin changes a lot over the course of the year. Skin is seasonally and hormonally affected. You may find your skin is oilier in summer and dry in winter. In spring and fall, your T-zone is oily while your cheeks are dry. When you are on your period, your skin may experience breakouts causing you to think your skin is oily. But once your period is over, the breakouts clear right up and your skin can become flaky.

DRY SKIN
Dry skin feels tight, especially after cleansing. You have a tendency towards fine wrinkles, flaking and red patches. In women of color, skin may appear ashy or dull from dead skin buildup. This skin fluctuation can definitely be attributed to hormones. Dry skin requires special care. Use heavy cleansers and moisturizers over the lightweight products of your oilier years.Exfoilate  weekly and even slather on primers before You apply foundation just to plump the skin up as much as possible.
CHARACTERISTICS OF DRY SKIN
If your skin feels dehydrated shortly after cleansing, making you reach for the moisturizer, your skin is likely dry. Your pores tend to be small, your skin may be sensitive and you may notice flaky skin if you examine your face in a magnifying mirror.

SENSITIVE SKIN
Sensitive skin tends to be thin, and delicate with fine pores. If you are easily irritated by the sun, certain cosmetic products and if you are prone to redness, itchy patches or blotchy skin, you likely have sensitive skin.
Finding the right cleansers and moisturizers for your skin type can be tricky. The good news is many companies have developed products specifically for sensitive skin. Look for mild products that contain no scents.

AGEING OR SUN DAMAGED SKIN
This skin also feels tight with visible wrinkles, slack skin tone -- especially around the cheeks and jawline -- with leathery texture and broken capillaries.
To care for aging skin, you should consider using moisturizers and heavy creams to plump up your fine wrinkles

Eyebrow Stencils

Eyebrow stencils refers to patterns, which people use to draw certain eyebrow shapes and for brow shaping. They are often made from flexible plastics that are translucent. While using them, often the stencil is placed on top your brows and the pattern you want is drawn using an brow pencil after which you can tweeze, wax, pluck or thread any eyebrow hairs that are not within the regions you want.

Cream Eyeshadows

Most of us grew up using those powdery eye shadows and weren’t even aware of cream eye shadows out there. Yet, as I grew a bit older, becoming more interested in cosmetics and skin care, I found myself drawn to the appeal that cream eye shadows had to offer. Specifically, they offered a shimmery finish instead of a flat, matte one, which I love for added shine and making the skin glow. The key to using cream eye shadows is to know how to apply them, and choose ones that won’t rub off and look oily. I hope you enjoy them as much as i do!
