How To Get Smokey Eyes

Smokey eyes have been a big style for quite awhile and there's no sign this particular trend is dying. Here i will show you step-by-step instructions on how to get the perfect smokey eye.

The key to the perfect smokey eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also, it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top, champagne base with bright blue and peach base with green hue.

Here's How:

  1. Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to keep eyelids oil-free. To do this start with a primer.Simply swipe the primer across the eye and let it dry before you continue to the next step.
  2. Apply eyeliner. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If you're opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smokey eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
  3. Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want to use a eyeliner pencil because they're easiest to smudge. Once the line is drawn, run your finger over it to smudge the line. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.
  4. Apply light base color Again, the key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.  The moist "mousse" consistency seems to stay on forever. My favorite colors are taupe and pearl.
  5. Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it's time to get the smokey effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease. The key here is to blend, blend, blend.

Tips:

  1. Remember to keep lips nude. When applying strong makeup (like smokey eyes or red lips) put the focus on either eyes or lips, never both.
  2. For a bit of fun, try a blue or purple mascara. It will make blue eyes "pop."
  3. Liner doesn't have to come in pencil form. Makeup experts know eyeshadows make some of the best eyeliners. To do this take an eyeliner brush, wet it, then dab wet brush into the dark shadow. This allows for a deep, precise line. You can also use the dark shadows without wetting brush first. Either way, eyeliner is necessary for smoky eye.
  4. This season go jewel-toned (blue is great for you blue-eyed girls) and keep your eyes smoky but stay away from dark browns and black. Instead, go for a deep purple, a gold-brown or any of the many vibrant colors in this year.

What You Need

  • Eye primer (you don't need it, but it's great for keeping shadow in place)
  • 2 Shadows: One light, one darker
  • Eyeliner
  • Makeup brushes
  • Mascara

MAKEUP MISTAKES YOU DONT REALIZE YOU ARE MAKING

In theory beauty editors shouldn't be making makeup mistakes, but in reality, even the most experienced makeup mavens can mess up now and then.                                                                       MISTAKE NUMBER ONE:WEARING THE WRONG SHADE OF FOUNDATION -Foundation isn't supposed to give your skin a bit of a tan. After all, that's what bronzers are for. Instead, "it's supposed to create a perfect, smooth complexion and cover-up any imperfections. This is why you should always use a foundation which blends in with your skin." I recommends testing on your jawline (not your hand!) before buying, and when possible, ask for a sample first. That way you can try it at home -- and look at your skin in various lighting situations -- to make sure the shade you choose looks natural.                                                                                                                                  MISTAKE NUMBER TWO:APPLYING MAKEUP ON DRY AND FLAKY SKIN-I describe the results of slathering on foundation over chapped skin as "horrific," and we have to agree. Foundation will only emphasize the flakes by sitting on top of them instead of blending in with your skin. Fix the dryness by exfoliating regularly (to get rid of flakes) and following that up with a rich moisturizer. Smoother skin means a much smoother application and finished look.
MISTAKE NUMBER THREE:TRYING TO PLUMP UP UR LIPS-You've probably heard, or tried, the trick of lining just outside your natural lip line to make your lips look bigger. But it's way easier said than done. If you are going to attempt it,use a lip liner the same shade as your lipstick on the outer line of your lips, without passing over it. Fill in your lips as well -- that way if your lipstick fades, you don't wind up with only a line around your mouth.
MISTAKE NUMBER FOUR:OVER TWEEZING OR IGNORING UR EYE BROWS-"When [brows are] well groomed they can enhance your eyes and your entire look," So head to a professional to get an ideal shape. While you do want to tame overgrown brows, You don't want to tweeze too much. "As we get older, our brows naturally become sparser, so if you tweeze your brows too thin they might never fully grow back," . So just stick with cleaning up the area around your brows and follow their natural arch for your best shape                                                                                                  MISTAKE NUMBER FIVE:WEARING AN ENTIRE PALETTE ON YOUR LID- "Just because your compact came with four or more colors packaged together doesn't mean you have to paint them all onto your eyelids at once,Instead, I recommend wearing no more than three shades at a time: a medium one on your lids, a lighter one near your brow bone and a dark one as liner. But for everyday, you really only need a sweep of one shade across your lid.                                                                MISTAKE NUMBER SIX:TRYING TO SCULPT YOUR FACE- Yes, we would all love chiseled cheekbones and a dainty, ski-slope nose, but if nature didn't deliver, makeup isn't going to help. Contouring is best left to professionals, and only for photography or film. "No matter how skilled you are with the makeup brush, it's nearly impossible to use dark colors that aren't glaringly obvious when viewed in person, especially in broad daylight."Focus instead on pretty, soft makeup that plays up your best features."                                                                                                                              MISTAKE NUMBER SEVEN:WEARING GLITTER-  "The thing that bothers me the most about glitter in makeup is that it travels on your face, leaving strange sparkly spots where they shouldn't be.Instead of chunky glitter, I recommend shadows with finely milled shimmer -- used sparingly, of course.

Tips to Use Contact Lenses

Contact lens
A contact lens is a corrective, cosmetic or therapeutic lens usually placed on the cornea of the eye. Contact lenses usually serve the same corrective purpose as conventional glasses, but are lightweight and virtually invisible. It has been estimate that about 125million people use contact lenses worldwide. People choose to wear contact lenses for various reasons.
The functions of contact lenses can be classified as

Corrective contact lenses
A corrective contact lens is a lens designed to improve vision. Conditions correctable with the contact lenses include short sightedness(Myopia), far sightedness(Hypermetropia), astigmatism and presbyopia.
Cosmetic contact lenses
These lenses are designed to change the appearance of the eye.

Therapeutic contact lenses
Soft lenses are often used in the treatment and management of non refractive disorders of the eye. A bandage contact lens protects an injured or diseased cornea from constant rubbing of blinking eye lids thereby allowing it to heal.
Types of contact lenses by material
The first contact lenses were made of glass, which caused eye irritation, and so were not able to be worn for extended periods of time. The introduction of lenses made from polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) becomes much more convenient and these lenses are commonly referred as "Hard" lenses. However PMMA lenses doesn't transmit oxygen to the cornea which can cause a number of adverse clinicle events.

In the late 1970 improved rigid materials which were also oxygen-permeable were developed. These lenses were referred as RGP lenses. In effect, the lens is able to replace the natural shape of the cornea with a new refracting surface and provides good level of vision in people wgo have astigmatism or distorted corneal shapes as with keratoconus.
The principle breakthrough in soft lenses made by Otto Wichterle led to the launch of the first soft lenses in the 1980's. Soft lenses are immediately comfortable, while RGP lenses require a period of adaptation. The polymers from which soft lenses are manufactured improved over the next 25 years, primarily in terms of increasing the oxygen permeability. In 199, silicone hydrogels became availabkle. Silicone lenses have extremely high oxygen permeability and were advocate primarily for extended(overnight) wear.

A daily wear lenses is designed to be removed prior to sleeping. An extended wear(EW) lenses is designed for continuous overnight wear, typically for 6 or more consecutive nights. Newer materials such as silicone hydrogels allow for even longer periods of up to 30 consecutive nights, these lenses were referred as continuous wear(CW).
The various soft contact lenses available are often categorized by their replacement schedule.More commonly contact lenses are prescribed to be disposed of on a two week or monthly basis. Quarterly or annual lenses, which are used to be very common, have lost favor because a more frequent disposal schedule allows for thinner and limits deposits.
Complecations due to contact lenses wear affect roughly 5% of contact lens wearers each year. Excessive wear of contact lens, particularly overnight wear. Problems associated with contact lens may affect the eyelid, conjunctiva and the various layers of the cornea.
Tips To Use Contact Lenses
All lenses require regular cleaning and disinfecting in order to retain clear vision and prevent discomfort and infections. There are number of products that can be used to perform these tasks

Five Tips for Clear Skin

FIVE Steps to Clear Skin
Acne is one of the most common skin conditions in the modern and developed world. Many teenagers, and those in their twenties are more prone to acne than adults; although, adults may get it too. For some reason or another acne always seems to come when a “big event” is approaching. The nature of the event isn’t really important; it may be a job interview, a first date, a business meeting. The first thing you do is try to hide the acne with hair, heavy makeup,

or attempt to “pop” it which ultimately will make it worse and even lead to scarring. For acne sufferers all over the world, this scenario is all too common and is just another challenge in the modern world. However, there is a solution. Acne can be managed and brought under control with a few simple guidelines.

Nourish
The most important factor in healing any condition; including acne, is diet. A balanced diet could help in giving your system the necessary tools to fight bumps and blemishes on the skin. In addition, your complexion will become brighter, and more energy will suddenly be released. Small choices can bring about major changes.
Eating fruits, vegetables, and more whole foods will help to vitalize the body and brain with vitamins and minerals while improving digestion with enzymes. Also, drinking a sufficient amount of water ; about 8 glasses a day, will help to purify and clean toxins in the system.

Cleanse
Cleansing the skin is essential for attaining and maintaining a clearer complexion. You don’t have to wash your face with harsh and stripping alcohols or gritty scrubs either. There are many gentle and dermatologist recommended cleansers in the market such as Cetaphil, which may be a solution to removing the daily dirt and oil.
Exfoliating the skin two to three times a week with a safe exfoliating cleanser is also a great way to buff away dead skin cells and other impurities. Yet, always keep in mind that overwashing the skin leads to irritation and in turn causes greater oil production for more skin problems.

Protect
Sun exposure can help the skin by providing doses of Vitamin D3, but these benefits are temporary. Constant and major sun exposure will actually do the opposite of helping your skin by plugging the pores and comedones (whiteheads or blackheads), and create a comfortable breeding ground
for more acne. Thus, to avoid this problem; especially if you have already cleared your skin, you should use an SPF 15 or 30 sunscreen when outside.

Rest
A good night sleep of 7-8 hours beginning around 10pm is a wonderful way of gaining a healthier complexion. Healthy resting habits help in clearing acne by building a stronger immune system. Also, if you do not receive adequate rest at the right time of night your skin will appear pale and dull; an indication of a weaker immune system, and thus you will be more prone to breakouts.
Exercise Working out is a great way to increase blood flow through the body, achieve a higher heart rate, increase vitamin and mineral absorption from foods, increase the oxygen level in the bloodstream, detoxify the body, and improve overall function in both the body and brain. On top of all these great benefits movement in the body also helps you to release energy, thus enabling you to relax and reduce stress. As you will see in the next solution, stress reduction is crucial in attaining clear skin.

Relax
Tension and stress in the body has many detrimental effects. Tension leads your adrenal glands to flood the bloodstream with a hormone known as Cortisol. Cortisol has been the cause of many chronic conditions, but when hormone levels escalate then this ultimately causes acne flare ups and severe breakouts. So, it is important to take time out everyday to just sit and relax, and let your mind unwind. Meditation alone can be the best way to relax and let the body attain a higher level of peace and tranquility.
Clearer skin could be achieved through meditation since you are in the process of rejuvenation where you are releasing the body and mind of any pressures and anxieties that would otherwise take a toll on the immune system. Evidently being acne free is not simply having a strict skin cleansing regimen. Having clear skin and a glowing complexion includes adopting a system and lifelong routine that aims at all aspects of prevention and healthcare, one that will provide clear skin for years to come.

HOW TO CLEAN UP YOUR MAKE UP BRUSHES

How to clean your makeup brushes
How to clean your makeup brushes
It is essential to clean your makeup brushes and washing them should be a part of your regular beauty routine.

When you use your brushes, bits of makeup, oil, dirt, and even bacteria can get trapped in the bristles. So, while it might seem basic, skipping this step can lead to clogged pores and pesky breakouts.

You will need lukewarm water, baby shampoo, a shallow bowl and a lint-free cloth. Run your brush under lukewarm water, focussing on the bristles. This will wash off excess makeup. Fill the bowl with lukewarm water and a squirt of shampoo, and gently swirl your brush tip in the water. Rinse the brush tip under running water again. Wipe them clean later, reshaping the bristles as you go. Lay your brushes flat on a cloth to dry. There you have it, nice and clean!
